Buying a House in Southeastern Michigan

The Detroit Area Real Estate and surrounding Markets have been dominated by short sales and foreclosures over the past few years.  In recent months, the number of these properties have all but dried up from the market.  

Three-quarters all recent sales are normal, conventional and FHA sales without Lender owned properties.  Although, short sale and foreclosed properties will be part of the marketplace for the near future, they are playing a less dominant role then a few years ago.  A few Detroit metropolitan areas are reporting low inventory levels. The low levels are forcing buyers to have a home loan in advance of any offer to purchase and cash buyers are being required to show proof of funds prior to offer acceptance.
